Commission publishes Green Paper on EU corporate governance framework |
 |
On 5 April 2011, the EU Commission launched a public consultation on possible ways forward to improve existing corporate governance mechanisms. The objective of the Green Paper is to have a broad debate on the issues raised and allow all interested parties to see which areas the Commission has identified as relevant in the field of corporate governance. The deadline for submitting contributions in response to the consultation is 22 July 2011. See: |

ECGI names Eddy Wymeersch as Chairman |
 |
On the recommendation of the ECGI’s Nominations Committee, Eddy Wymeersch was invited to become a member of the Board. On his acceptance, the Board unanimously nominated him to serve as Chairman of the ECGI with immediate effect. His Board appointment is subject to ratification at the ECGI’s next General Assembly which takes place in Amsterdam on Friday, 8th April 2011. Antonio Borges has resigned from the role of ECGI Chairman in order to take up the post of Director of the European Department of the International Monetary Fund. See: |
